PROJECT INSIGHTS

This project involved the creation of a custom admin application for My Girl Souz, a laser hair removal clinic in Calgary, Canada. The application is available on both Android and iOS platforms, providing a centralized system for managing all aspects of the business. Built using React Native for the mobile apps, Node.js for the backend, and MongoDB for the database, the application is hosted on a Digital Ocean server and published on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

The My Girl Souz Admin Application empowers the clinic to efficiently manage bookings, customer accounts, invoices, patient notes, employee information (including payroll, leaves, and shifts), service offerings (including rates and booking hours), and other key business details. Administrators have full control over appointments, with the ability to approve, reject, reschedule, or request rescheduling. Payment processing is integrated with Stripe, and the system also allows for manual entry of cash or credit card payments collected on-site. Employees can accurately track their time, both automatically during appointments and manually for other tasks.

OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPROVEMENTS

Prior to the development of this application, My Girl Souz relied on SquareUp for business and customer management. However, this generic software proved to be costly, difficult to manage, and lacked the customization needed to address the clinic's specific requirements. It did not adequately support employee management, incorporating business-specific information, or providing the flexibility required for their unique workflow. This led to inefficiencies and challenges in managing the day-to-day operations of the clinic.

PROJECT DELIVERY PROCESS

This project was completed within 90 days by a team of four, comprised of app developers and backend developers.
