PROJECT INSIGHTS

Developed a web-based augmented reality (AR) application for Gillette as part of a marketing campaign. Utilizing the XZIMG library and Three.js for AR functionality, the application allows users to virtually try on different beard styles. The process begins with the user scanning their face to determine their face shape (oval, round, or rectangle). Based on the detected shape, the application recommends various beard styles, such as Goatee, Balbo, Van Dyke, French beard, Chevron, Anchor, and Mutton Chops. Users can then select a beard style, visualize it on their face in real-time, capture photos, and share them on social media.

OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPROVEMENTS

In India, a significant number of men aspire to grow and maintain a full beard. Gillette sought to capitalize on this trend by encouraging experimentation with different beard styles, promoting their range of grooming products, and ultimately driving sales. The goal was to create an engaging and interactive experience that would help users discover the most flattering beard style for their face shape and then recommend the appropriate Gillette products to achieve and maintain that look.
